7/10
Solid horror endeavor

Dead Silence is a ghost story with bite. It's revolves around Jamie Ashen a widower haunted by his wife's strange unexplainable murder and goes to his old home town to search for answers.

I'll start off by saying I've never been a fan of the saw series however James Wan did a good job and this story wise this is a really well executed horror film, however it's not without it's flaws or shortcomings. I grew up reading goosebumps books and Night Of The Living Dummy gave me nightmares that involved my stuffed animals killing me while I slept. So, this film reminded me of that and drove this film home for me. This film is no masterpiece however it is often overlooked and deserves a second viewing regardless of it's mediocre passable acting, ending, and sometimes slow pacing. The story is executed well, the dark color scheme visuals are nice and the scares and mystery are entertaining as well as enjoyable. 7/10.
