There is a lot wrong with this movie. The kids planning and doing something wrong with little or no consequences. The verbal reprimand is not close to a slap on the wrist. Its nearly invisible.
The acting is wanting. There are moments you wonder how they could be considered child actors. The adults are not much better but passable. John Carroll Lynch is likable in this movie. This was the first movie I saw him in that I liked. I wish the part was a better part. The storyline as much as it is not admirable is put together well. The script holds the actors and story together. This is definitely a movie that you would to watch with the kids and show them what not to admire.
The movie ended on a plausible note though, I think the parents should have made it known that it was not acceptable, and it ended on a good note.
I wonder why the writer did not make the plot more plausible with a plot that would be acceptable like Spy Kids. Spy Kids as much as it may have pushed the limit with the kids taking on more than they should was better than this plot. I think the kids also were better actors in Spy Kids.
