Kaththi is an engaging film that works both as a proper mass movie for Vijay,as well as a technically solid movie with a lot of highs. Vijay as Kathiresan is energetic as ever,while Jeevanandam is a new attempt in his career,which he has pulled off well.
The movie feels like it could flow into the commercial zone at times but director AR Murugadoss keeps it on track with regular engaging scenes and a tight screenplay. Anirudh's BGM and songs were a huge plus in the film,and he has the ability to elevate scenes on his own(read,Interval coin fight scene and villain entry scene). The fight scenes too were few of the best choreographed,surely enjoyable for Kollywood commercial movie fans.
Overall,one of Vijay's best films;watch it for the moving story,the songs,the fights and of course for Vijay:)
