Review of Without Love

Without Love (1945)
6/10
Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn make the mostly okay Without Love worth seeing
20 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
After just watching their first film together-Woman of the Year-I decided I then had to check out their third film, this one. Taking place in Washington D. C. during the wartime living shortage, Spencer Tracy is a scientist who ends up bordering Katharine Hepburn's home after her cousin Keenan Wynn drunkenly encounters Spencer during a cab ride. Lucille Ball is on hand to provide some pertinent wisecracks. And since I like to cite players from my favorite movie-It's a Wonderful Life-in other films or TV shows, here Gloria Grahame-Violet Bick in IAWL-plays a flower girl who's allergic to what she sells! Mom and I pretty much enjoyed this one though I was partly disappointed this wasn't as funny as I would have liked. Despite that, we both recommend Without Love.
