Titans: Lazarus (2021)
Season 3, Episode 5
9/10
Gotham doesn't know fear, it only knows Terror.

Warning: Spoilers
This was an overall great episode, the acting throughout this episode was PHENOMENAL, especially from Curran Walters aswell as Vincent Kartheiser and Iain Glen.

This episode cover the details of how Jason was driven down the path to death and how Red Hood was born in his shadow. And it was all due to Scarecrow. It's fairly obvious now that Scarecrow is set up to be the main villain of this season which I'm ALL for. I want more of Gotham, more of Crane and more of this story.

Opinions:

I don't yet know how I feel about Jason NOT being Red Hood, but more like Scarecrow poisoning him to be. It's original for sure but it doesn't really stay true to the original Red Hood in my opinion. Jason didn't go after the Joker to save his mother, he went after him to prove himself to Bruce. Which fits this story and his character.

This episode also (kind of) explained why Bruce killed the Joker. But it didn't really explain how he BURRIED Jason, yet the burial isn't shown here, nor is how he got out of the grave. Which must mean Bruce lied about the burial. But that wasn't explored at all, wemre just left to assume that.

I think the episode ended on a very strange note, setting up ANOTHER flashback episode. I do wish it spent more time to develope Red Hood at the end but I feel everything was mapped out rather well.

Overall it's a very enjoyable episode that developes Jason and his motivations SO MUCH. I would have ti give this episode a 8.5/10, which is closer to a 9 than an 8. I need more of this story to properly judge this episode but as a standalone it's an 8.5 for me.
