A female cop is shot and killed. The episode is pretty much about the effort to put together a case against two very resistant black men. While they are indeed criminals, we see that their options are pretty limited. The connection between Sipowicz and his ex-wife is tenuous. He has seriously taken advantage of her. He can be a very selfish character.
