No way to treat dr. Glassman!
7 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I watch this show because it has at it's centre a doctor who is autistic, and accepted because of his special skills, despite his awkward social behaviour. Since I'm on the spectrum, I have a special interest in this and in general I'm fond of hospital series.

But this episode made me lose much sympathy for dr. Audry Lim and Claire. I thought the characters could get along with each other quite well despite all their differences. But it turns out that Dr. Lim and Claire are quite resentful people. Why does dr. Lim lash out to dr. Glassman with 'says a white guy?' Glassman does not deserve this hostility. Glassman does not respond but I wish he had said something back along the lines "Well, I cannot help being white, and I 'm surprised by your resentment towards me, actually it hurts." Or anything in that direction. And why does Claire conclude that the reason she wanted to prove to be a good medical student was 'to please white people'? I want to shout at Claire 'No one is asking you to please white people, just please yourself!' It seems this episode wants to promote the idea of 'white privilige' and 'systemic racism'. Well, I don't think it's a privilege to be singled out as some sort of scapegoat just because of the color of your skin. Says a white chick.

I will keep on watching 'The Good Doctor' because of my admiration for Freddy Higmore's acting skills, but I hope it won't get more woke!
