Mississippi Burning meets Rambo
8 September 2021
This is like a combination between Mississippi Burning and Rambo. It has a group of black guys return from 'Nam to their southern Hicksville town and discover they may have been heroes overseas but are quickly back to being zeroes when in the vicinity of their pea-brained redneck neighbours. They retaliate by politicising their brethren, leading to the KKK feeling threatened and getting involved. Don't worry, by the end of it our Vietnam Vets are setting man-traps and blowing the white-hooded numbskulls to smithereens. This blaxploitation effort actually has a decent story, even if the acting is poor - which is what happens when you hire an off-season football team to play most of the parts - but if you like a film to deal with civil rights issues while also incorporating booby traps and explosions then this fits the bill.
