I hate horror games in general, since most of their lore is depressing. This one's not really that type. It's just about a man who did bad deeds and recieving his karma in purgatory. (The only depressing part is the child dying to Bierce's arms for her sacrifice, confirmed by the secret audio clips).
I have not played the full game yet, but I would not classify this as "horror", rather "mild horror"; it's not even scary, and I am saying this positively. If I were to actually play it, sure, I would jolt a few times, but the graphics, gameplay, and lore is far too amazing enough to shift my attention from jumpscares.
