I did not like this episode at all upon first viewing. It felt too cartoony and silly.
This knucklehead robot wants to be a Jedi? C'mon now!
Then I started to listen to what was being said between himself and his possible creator, Professor Mitaka. Who by the way is wearing some of the most aggressive getas I've seen. The lightsaber duel and action in this one surprisingly intrigued me.
They're doing a lot of focus on these kyber crystals and lightsabers in these episodes so far also.
After watching it dawned on me. Oh it's Astro Boy meets Star Wars meets What if...?
After thinking like that, I thought the whole concept of a droid becoming a Jedi due to being connected by the crystals was pretty neat!
So much so, after I watched it in English, I went back and watched it in Japanese and not to take away from all the voice actors involved, I liked it better in Japanese.
