6/10
Dumb script, likable cast
14 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The series had (1) very likable characters, (2) fun story, (3) build-up to apocalypse, (4) safe, relaxing to watch. This might be enough for lots of people.

I wanted to rate this higher but the entire presentation was riddled with forced, in your face, really stupid subplots.

1. Jenna Fischer obviously not a hacker. Anyone could see that. Yet she's on trial, hunted down, public enemy number one. After escaping, she doesn't want to get caught but goes home, goes to hospital... just goes to all the places where the feds are waiting for her. You enjoy the scenes but at the same time you are forcing your brain to shut down.

2. Mathew Baynton obviously not a criminal mastermind hacker. Obviously not on foreign land hacking government sites when he can very easily be cleared of wrong-doing. Again: force your brain to shut down in order to enjoy.

3. Kyle Soller, in one of the most important & covert positions in government, acts like another numbskull. Even calls police from his cell phone to aid/abet his sister. Sigh... brain must shut down in order to enjoy his scenes too. It was bad enough that he spent large portions crying, riddled with self-doubts and other emotional problems for a person in his position.

4. Lloyd Owen (as president) rooting for the apocalypse and the chance to be locked up with 15 beautiful women for the rest of his life. Ok... this part actually made sense.

5. Karla Crome: took her something like 7 years to get away from the evil twin. A capable, smart and strong individual couldn't make a simple phone call for help in all those years.

6. Good guy Rob Lowe gets assassinated right before getting together with his true love.

The subplots aren't just dumb. They are without common sense. This show wasn't able to tell the difference between funny dumb and plain stupid dumb. Even the ending was atrocious...

7. Evil twin keeps managing to pop up. In the waning seconds (yes... seconds), he manages to show up to bunker, knock the good twin out and enter inside. Good twin is left outside to die.

We aren't even left with a happy ending to make up for all the nonsense we sat through. If I knew it was going to end this way, I wouldn't even had bothered watching the series.

But until that point (with brain turned off), it was somehow fun to watch. Recommend a single viewing if you like care-free, really dumb stuff with likable characters.
