Came across this back when I was a kid seemingly when me & my brother were randomly watching shows that weren't meant for us on the Telewest Broadband Catch-Up Menu, in other words, weren't age appropriate & we watched random episodes from Series 3 to Series 4! Series 4, Episode 4 is the Episode I remembered watching where Lindsey has to lose weight & it was ace! Of course, the adult humour & that went over our heads but still it was funny to watch, but as times moved we forgot about the show since until 2012!
It was then I started to watch it again after remembering (I kept meaning to watch the show again after remembering it) & the childhood memories started to flow back, I watched the above episode before watching the rest of Series 4 before then watching Series 1 onwards!
The show follows teachers in their daily lives, but shows them with their own set of struggles, inadequacies & troubles with sex, relationships & other topics that the teens/kids teach talk & complain about! It's loaded with stories & subplots concerning each of the teachers with different personalities as well as the classes of kids & teens they teacher who share the same problems & concerns they have!
I find the show to be pretty good! 20 Years on from it's first release back in March 2011 & still it's funny, satirical & loaded with all kinds of adult, weird & outlandish humour & scenarios that can or sort of relate to as with the issues & struggles these teachers face as they smoke behind bike shelters!
Series 1 was a good start although it was Series 4 which got me into the show in the first place. The show sees Simon Casey as the main focus for the first 2 Series' & is also seen in Series 3 for a few & he's a young man who has sex/relationship issues & always realises on Susan & others who also have their own set of issues!
Series 2 was a bit weak for me, but alright, not as good as 1 or nearly 4, but still good as a new set of characters were introduced! It is however, my least favourite though!
Series 3 was a bit better, but still like Series 2 suffered with a few episodes being so-so & that & not that great, it did have some good ones & I liked by this point in the TV Show, that the Episode intros weren't always featuring Simon which by Series 2 it got somewhat boring seeing the one characters over & over!
Series 4 is ace & my favourite! I never understood why it got a "muted reception" as it was ace & way more varied & funny I think, sure the previous 3 series' were pretty funny too & had some great moments, the episode with Bob swearing a lot in Series 3 was hilarious, but I liked this the most!
It's a shame a Series 5 never got made & thanks to the critics is the reason it'll never see the light of day thanks to the hate the 4th Series got! My only negatives of the show is that the episodes are quite long & drawn out, aside from that the TV Show is ace overall!
