Succession: Hunting (2019)
Season 2, Episode 3
8/10
A good episode anchored by one brilliant moment.

I really want to keep these reviews shorter as I zoom through this series to catch up to Season 3.

This was a good episode, a slow-mover, that also featured one of the series' greatest and, also, saddest moments. A true reflection of the power that Logan holds and its impact on the people around him.

It wouldn't be extreme to say that Logan treats his family and coworkers like animals. With profane ranting, abusive remarks, degrading punishments etc. This episode took that to the next level. Kendall seems to be completely altering himself as a person, the man he once was, who we saw him to be in the first season, is now nothing but a very distant memory. It'll be particularly interesting to see if this puppet - puppeteer act between him and Logan will end happily for Kendall, or drive him off the rails.

I must admit, the writing is still stellar but the drama felt slightly lacking in this one. Still a good episode, but Cox's masterful performance as the family's patriarch commanded it to being a worthwhile addition to a very good season of television. Give that man the Emmy!
