Engaging characters make this watchable

This is an engaging and sometimes poignant dramedy about the problems over-thinkers experience in finding true love. Michela Noonan engages our sympathy as she makes endless messes of the seemingly-simple task of persuading one of the many randy young blokes she encounters in her inner-city milieu of share-houses and drunken parties to bust her eager cherry.

She finds support, encouragement and sympathy from her gay housemate, whose blissful relationship seems to have everything her life lacks, until it suddenly doesn't anymore. Aspiring poet Samuel Johnson is keen to offer his assistance but she ignores him for almost too long.

It's what a rom-com should be: sometimes happy, sometimes sad, sometimes frustrating and sometimes silly, but with a number of engaging characters.
