Jean (Elizabeth Taylor)'s father, defense lawyer Steve Latimer (William Powell) is defending playboy gambler Victor Y. Ramondi (Fernando Lamas). She pushes off her boyfriend Vance Court (Gig Young)'s marriage proposal and becomes interested in bad boy Victor.
I really have no one to root for in this movie. Elizabeth Taylor is magnetic but I don't care about her character. I don't care about her relationship with either men. This may work better if Victor's violence can be accentuated earlier. That would have raised the tension and this movie needed that.
