Review of Aarya

Aarya (2020– )

Interesting but very slow!

Before Arya 2 releases, I managed to complete S1.

TBH, according the series, the story begins from when Tej gets assassinated but for audience, the real fun begins from Ep6. Before that, the series moves extremely slowly with family members constantly mourning now and them about the death of Tej and those sequences are so long that you wish the editing was better.

Overall, this series is not only about the illegal drug buisness story but about individual characters and their own stories and conflicts . Whenever the latter kicks in, the series slows down. It seems the director wanted to get us immersed heavily into the Sareen family and not just leave it as a superficial part which imo is a good thing but it slows down things. Whenever the main story kicked in, the series shifted gears.

Some scenes are outright uncomfortable making it a doubtful family watch. Two young kids lip locking , consuming drugs and stuff ....then Aarya's daughter barely looking 16 smoking cigarettes , lip kissing a foreigner out of romance stuff like that felt weird and uncomfortable to me and seriously feel kids should stay away from this series, strictly adult series.

Sushmita sen still packs in the power to nail such roles. A lot of starcast all have done a decent job.

Honest opinion , dont watch this series after seeing Arya S2 trailer (the mistake I made). The person who killed Tej can be predicted from far off if you see the S2 trailer.
