Don't touch me!

Warning: Spoilers
How do these keep getting more disturbing? 'Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 4 (2015)' is where the series starts to get a bit meta, as it starts to become clear that Yellow Guy, Red Guy and Duck aren't here by choice. It's also where the overarching lore starts to become more apparent; these shorts don't exist in isolation from one another. The picture's ending, in particular, is incredibly shocking and has genuine ramifications for the remainder of the series. The song is enjoyable, the aesthetic compelling and the pacing pretty much perfect. The horror is once again more cerebral than gruesome, but it works well for what the piece is trying to achieve. This one is ostensibly about computers and their ability to provide knowledge, but (beware mild spoilers for theming) it soon becomes a critique of the inherent artifice of the online world and the way in which people can become lost in their online personas. There's more information than ever before, but most of it is valueless. This is a solid entry in the series. As I mentioned, it ends with a real bang. 8/10.
