5/10
great story / plot flaws in intriguing scandinavian drama

Loved so much of this show as an Aussie overseas seeing magnificent Nordic vistas and insightful looks at European culture. But found the first episode representative of the whole series with annoying plot, acting and direction: hated that we had a great build up to a masterful black ops cop in a hick rural setting but then dumbly shoots the most important leader in a town with virtually no outcry; that he gets caught in the first place allowing someone to yell out (impossible for a true elite agent); and then he gets caught unawares so many times by people sneaking up on him- again impossible; then he pales in importance to Ragna as the story progresses. But it's a fantastic plot and totally credible in its machinations and deceptions, so clever; but ends in a whimper with no repercussions for the bumbling German advisors. However the ending does give scope for a further extension into Russian / European mafia intrigue that is a totally new area of interest for foreigners like me. Great potential for a better written follow up series.
