Just having Christopher Lloyd and Lea Thompson in this movie elevated it one or two stars above your average cookie-cutter Hallmark Christmas Movie. A time-travel Hallmark Christmas Movie puts it one more star above the other cookie-cutters. Erika Slezak in one of only four IMDb-listed roles other than Victoria Lord since ONE LIFE TO LIVE wrapped eight years ago adds one more. (The only one I've seen of Erika's other three was an excellent and moving episode on BLUE BLOODS. Glad she's finding work!)
Other reviewers note a lack of chemistry in the central characters, particularly the love triangle. I agree, and they articulated what I felt was lacking and made the overall movie a little flat, but no worse than the average non-time-travel cookie cutters.
I wasn't expecting the BACK TO THE FUTURE franchise but I wasn't expecting a Hallmark cookie cutter either. I wasn't disappointed.
