I liked it better when it was a regular show about family matters, traditions, rituals... before turning into a fantasy show with ridiculous storylines. I particularly liked the actresses playing Simar and especially Mataji.
I am not Indian, but during the first seasons I was so hooked on the traditions presented such as the poojahs and Mata Rani.
Mataji is such a believable wise grandmother, she really saved the show in later seasons from being a total stinker. Her wise thinking and warmth even made me wish I was part of their family.
