I'm very suspicious of positive reviews because I didn't seem to be watching the same show. A virtual checklist of clichés, "Yellowjackets" feels like a network-television stab at "edgy drama." Stereotyped teens -one of every flavor (trailer trash, duplicitous best friend, Queen Bee, token minority, token lesbian...oh these girls!) - trudge through a secret that isn't a secret after 5 minutes of screen time. This is C-Movie territory. The show looks like trash, the camera is lazy, the writing aloof..."Mean Cannibal Girls" or "Lady of the Flies"? Because "Yellowjackets" is far too intriguing of a title for such a slack attempt at drama. Even more insulting is the sampling of indie-cred female artists on the soundtrack. This show is definitely more Courtney Love than PJ Harvey.
