I think this movie would have played better if it hadn't been classified a Comedy/Drama. It took a while to adjust. But as Dramas go, it wasn't a bad film.
Yes, in this day and age it might be somewhat predictable. But it was a story worth telling. It's a movie with no agenda other than to convey simple messages like; Family is important and even a supposed "loser" like Topher can rise to the occasion when called upon.
