V DISAPPOINTING ending, with TERRIBLE values-depiction.

Warning: Spoilers
The plot build-up at the start was good, but got more desperate (aka trying too pathetically hard to be revolutionary, liberal etc). This show teaches us that a woman who strings a man along (one who really loves her) for her own benefit, marries him at her own free will and yet shows him disrespect on many occasions (I'm all for woman empowerment but i think the potrayal of gender equality is lopsided- her willful obstinacy annoys me), brings a man with drug records over to Egypt and trusts him more than she does her own loving husband who literally saved her from danger and misery when she was alone in the US... eventually gets the happy ending? Hana is abhorrent in so many ways! She bulldozes her way everywhere (not in the way that shows intelligence, class and wisdom as a woman should), AND still gets her way. Her luck eventually seemed to be so much better than wonderful Sara, whose husband she stole.

I had really hoped that Mones would get *something* out of this... at least Ibrahim, but nope, she gets him in the end too. Yes, I do not condone marital rape, of course, but it's not like it's an obsessive, compulsive sexual rage or desires that he has- they hadn't consummated their marriage for what, more than 9 mths, so he's probably doing what any man would- either he'd want it really badly from his wife, or seek to release the urge elsewhere (which he didn't), and it eventually didnt happen. She even lied abt getting the divorce papers, which once again, shows her lack of honesty and integrity. And even when Mones begged her for forgiveness, she behaved as if she was the greatest victim in the world, seeking 'protection' behind a man who isn't her husband. Of course, the writers would have thought that slapping him in the club as she was caught dancing wildly, in view of everyone ,is her right. And oh, all this while her child is being left with his father, with whom he is unfamiliar with, and his nanny.

You don't love a man? Fine. Don't stay. Leave, walk away with dignity, go back to the ex-husband you love. But don't victimise others, and don't play victim. We need to teach our children and youth of basic virtues, and this show does NOT teach nor reflect that. I'm an educated woman, Muslim but liberal in my world views, but I do not see this 'win' by Hana as a real, fair win in all fairness.
