These high-schooler movies with a major component of sex aspiration usually leave me cold but this movie was different. The first few minutes of it had me going 'hmm...' like 'okay, this doesn't look like it will be much good' but once the story started it turned out to have a clever premise with a few interesting subplots, and numerous characters who were also interesting and added to the story.
One thing I liked about this movie is that the main characters who are supposed to be in high school, actually LOOKED like high schoolers. I have seen more movies with 22 and 28 year old 'high school students' and in most cases it's just sad that those actors think they can pass for a teenager anymore. They can't. A couple of the cast members in this film do look a little long in the tooth, but really, the vast majority look like they belong in high school so that adds some authenticity to the movie.
My favorite part of the movie is at the point where Rob, the main character, realizes that he can do anything he wants to and get out of whatever mess he gets into - just by doing 'something'. Given free rein to do whatever he feels like, some pretty funny stuff ensues.
At the end of the story the loose ends are tied up and it's a satisfying conclusion. This is a movie about teenage sex - not only about, but definitely a major part of the story - but not at all at the juvenile level of something like 'Porky's'. I'm getting to be a cranky old guy but I remember high school very well and I enjoyed this movie.
