Warning: Spoilers
A small American military unit led by Lt. Richard Stanley (a solid performance by Jason Gedrick) run afoul of giant predatory prehistoric worm monsters while doing a final mission in Afghanistan.

Director Jeff Rentroe relates the enjoyable story at a quick pace, makes nice use of the desolate desert landscape, maintains a surprisingly gritty take-no-prisoners tone throughout, and stages the monster attack scenes with flair. Moreover, the plot offers a neat blend of the war and horror genres while the characters are drawn with some depth.

The sound acting from the competent cast helps a lot: Tamara Hope as the spunky Jan Henle, Elias Toufexis as sarcastic troublemaker Private Andrews, Sebastian Kemp as decent dude Oscar Kaminsky, Chris Jarman as the two-fisted Sgt. Wilson, Michelle Asante as the scrappy Susan Eno, Jonas Khan as the helpful Amal Jazeer, and Andreea Coscai as gutsy little girl Isla. A nifty little B-flick.
