Review of Knocking

Knocking (2021)
8/10
Tense, anxious, and satisfying thriller (mild spoiler)
21 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Nearly everything about this film was a pleasant surprise. Cecilia Milocco was an outstanding lead. Conveying much without words. An honest representation of a fragile human. I was immediately immersed in her journey.

Direction, cinematography, and sound were all stellar and lent to the air of tension.

1 hour 18 minutes was the perfect length. Both the story and it's brevity recall "Alfred Hitchcock Presents..." or "Roald Dahl's Tales of the Unexpected" with slowly ratcheting intensity and (to me) satisfying conclusion.

Spoiler warning:

I had to watch the ending three times just to make sure it was as clear as it seemed. As much as I love twist endings...NOT having one was the actual shock here.
