Yes, it's too long and lacks any draw emotionally. But the worst of it is the miscasting of Cooper and Mara. It's beyond me why Cooper's performance is being praised. The only electricity coming from Mara is during her Carny act. Blanchett tries hard but doesn't pull it off either. Her plastic surgery is very disconcerting. Such a shame. The carny scenes are the best part of this dreary film.
