We've seen plenty of feelgood stories about underdogs taking on a challenge and finding inner peace and self-respect, and this fine film proves that a talented group of people can still find something new to say. On a Clear Day has a heart and a brain, it says things worth saying and Peter Mullan's mighty performance holds everything together. It's a worthwhile journey, and the closing scenes are immensely rewarding. Ten out of ten, not because it's perfect but because it moved me and made me feel better about the world.
