Making peace with your past
27 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Moody and troubled college student Alix (a fine and affecting performance by Courtney Schleinkofer) rents an off campus house that turns out to be haunted by the angry and unrestful spirit of a gal (foxy Natalia Brea) who hung herself in the basement. This in turn forces Alix to finally come to terms with her tragic past.

Director Oliver Coltress relates the absorbing story at a steady pace, ably crafts an eerie and unsettling atmosphere, makes good use of the rundown old house main location, delivers several startling moments of gory violence, and even sprinkles in a little tasty gratuitous female nudity for trashy good measure. The game no-name cast do commendable work: Sean Hoagland as concerned nice guy David, Brandi Fowler as the sassy Tamara, Brandy Ingram as the spunky Sara, Dion LaMarr as the easygoing Jasper, and Darrell Philip as tough, but fair teacher Mr. Edwards. Moreover, the emotional arc that Alix undergoes gives this picture extra depth and poignancy. A neat little flick.
