Why didn't they just barricade themselves in the room with weapons. Locked the door and put furniture against the door, The police outside would have had a link either by phone or whatever. And by the morning people would have stormed the place to free them, after they didn't hear from them. Instead they wander around like idiots, climbing roofs and running amok waiting to be killed. They made it so easy for the killer. Not the smartest bunch.
