Slap to the face to POC

Warning: Spoilers
I loved the concept of a streetwear design show. Production was inconsistent but promising. The outfits could have been featured more during judging.

But what killed this show is that they purposely changed the rules of judging to keep certain people on and in the end awarded the white boy from the midwest with his JCPenney's aesthetic over more talented but less "euro-american centric" black/poc designers. They literally chose a colonizer to win on a show about street wear which I've learned was most likely the white creative director of the brand sponsoring the show.

The most egregious example of the show changing the rules was when the black and latina female designers clearly outcompeted the white dude but to keep him on the show they had a surprise competition which consisted of a powerpoint presentation lookbook.

No joke, this is how they kept the white dude on. So disappointed how poc culture once again is white-washed.
