Review of Indian Summer

Indian Summer (1991 Video)
Fine performances; minor story
31 May 2022
This rather lighthearted Paul Thomas feature is easy to watch but quite trivial: a bit of comedy and fantasy as our leads are subjects of matchmaking by their friends.

Hyapatia Lee is a fashion designer who fantasizes about her male mannequin (that isn't anatomically accurate), imagining it to be human Peter North. Similarly, advertising illustrator Randy West imagines a beauty he's drawn to be living Savannah. She sexually pesters him - a thrill for fans of the inimitable (and tragic) porn beauty.

Their friends Madison and Wayne Summers are constantly trying to hook up Hyapatia and Randy with other friends of theirs -almost obsessive in their desire to act as matchmakers. Lee gets Biff Malibu, a porn actor and bodybuilder who is amusingly narcissistic and fairly satisfying when Hyapatia humps him.

A talkative blonde Tianna (hardly in the league of sexiness embodied in Lee, Madison or Savannah) seems to bore Randy, but ultimately he gets down with her and orgasms result.

The comedy is quite mild, especially in a scene straight out of that old movie & TV property "Topper" in which Wayne and Randy chat, while pesky Savannah keeps toying with Randy -she's invisible (of course) to Wayne.

Biggest problem here, a side-effect of the '90s VHS era trend of producing feature movies split into two parts (to maximize the flow of new product back in those halcyon days of constantly refilled New Releases sections at local Adult Video stores for rentals. "Indian Summer" suddenly just ends with absolutely nothing resolved -one has to find Part 2 somehow.
