What a gem and I'm not even Canadian!
14 June 2022
Watched this after discovering Noah Reid via Outer Range on Prime Video and researched what else he was known for. Then went back to Schitt's Creek which I had watched the first episode and half of the second before giving up on it and moving on to other things. Noah was the impetus for me starting SC again, but skipping to S3E8 where Noah first appears. Now I've watched SC twice all the way through and am blown away with how good it is. And Noah's arrangement and performance of Tina Turner's Simply The Best was awe inspiring. He also sings in Outer Range which is really what prompted me to find out more about him and it lead me to SC. Then, more research and finding two albums of his music and third about to drop kept me looking for more Noah. Watched a few episodes of Black Hell High which he was in as a teenager and then more research, which is what brought me here to Score. And it's hilarious. Truly inspired! Who in their right mind would ever think to make a musical about hockey? Had to be a Canadian. And again, Noah sings! There is nothing dull or boring or embarrassing about this movie as other reviewers have suggested. Bull hockey! It's meant as pure entertainment and boy was I surprised by how entertaining it was. Delicious! Hockey players singing? Doing dance routines on ice?!?! And I don't even like hockey. Take it all with a grain of salt and a grin. Loved it! Now if I can just find the rest of his films...
