Film Review: CBI 5: The Brain Streaming on Netflix ( available with Hindi audio & English subtitles)

Murders of seemingly unrelated people (a minister, a police officer, a doctor) start happening which leave the police clueless . The case, called "The Basket Murders", is then handed over to the CBI team led by Sethurama ( Mammootty) to solve. Will Sethurama & his team put together the different pieces of the jigsaw puzzle and get to the bottom of the mystery is what this film is all about.
Surprisingly Mammootty makes his appearance a bit later in the film, but his screen presence is awesome & he carries the film on his shoulders thereon. Others in the cast ; Asha Sharath, Soubin Shahir, Unnithan among others do well in keeping the narrative engaging.
The ending is a bit far fetched ... Though not utterly inconceivable. Won't say much as i do not want to spoil the suspense.
All in all a decent one time watch for aficionados of the crime thriller genre.
Mohanlal's -The Twelfth Man & Prithviraj's - Jana Gana Mana are also some other films in the same genre which you can go in for.
