I don't know how anyone could find this story romantic. A man in his forties in love with an underage girl is just creepy. I thought the music was beautiful. The cinematography was outstanding. Ms Smith was wonderful in her role as the heartbroken wife. However, didn't buy Ms Fontaine as an underaged girl. She looked her true age and couldn't pull off playing a teenager. This movie was disturbing to me. Mr Boyer came across as a creepy older man lusting after young girls. Yuck!
