This Roger Corman directed crime movie features a first lead role for Charles Bronson. As the title character. Its based on the true exploits of the gangster Machine Gun Kelly, who moved from robbing banks to kidnapping a young girl. Its one of Corman's favourites of his films as it's the first one where he started getting a bit of critical praise. It's a good movie for sure and Bronson is fine in the lead but the best thing about it for me was Susan Cabot of Wasp Woman fame, who was superb as Kelly's girlfriend who is by far the ballsiest character in the whole movie. All-in-all, this is a very worthwhile old school gangster film.
