Yep, that's actually a conversation that takes place in this "Renfrew of the Royal Mounted" adventure that has James Newell and Dave O'Brien heading on their vacation and finding a canoe at the bottom of a waterfall with a dead man inside. There goes their vacation, delayed even further by a conversation with the comically hard of hearing country store clerk and an encounter with a Loretta Young look-alike named Polly Ann.
They've only got 56 minutes to solve the murder, so it's a fast moving adventure with a great Canadian setting (even though obviously studio bound) and lots of intrigue along the way. Newell and O'Brien are a good team, with Loretta's real life sister a feisty heroine. One of the better Renfrew movies I've seen, a B "northern" with lots to enjoy.
