I was honestly so disappointed after looking forward to this for so long. Isabelle Fuhrman was amazing, she was great..Julia Stiles was good.
But the whole thing was quite boring to me, there is very little suspense in the movie, especially when Esther's secret is found out midway. No big deal. But Esther was rendered obsolete - how can she be chilling/scary/ or standout when the 2 members of the family are murderers too,and crazy as she is in their way ?
What was her end game? There was no building of relationships like in the original. It was clear from the first scene with her "family" that they didn't trust her, or even like her. To be honest, once the twist was revealed the story entered Lifetime territory and never really found it's way out.
