I cried through a big chunk of the second half of this movie but I don't want to give anyone the wrong impression, it remains lighthearted and uplifting. It just has a lot of...feeling.
At the heart of this movie is the question of whether or not it's worth it to follow your dreams, even if things don't go as well as you had hoped. I think it's a wonderful tale of finding meaning without finding conventional success.
Sally Hawkins and Mark Rylance are wonderful and their characters are so likable and heartwarming. Sometimes it's just really nice to watch movies about people you wish were your friends.
