It should have been called "My Dinner With Colombo". I get that the villain is a famous chef and food critic, and the victim was a chef, but the entire story amounted to about 20 minutes, while the rest of the hour was just Colombo and random other people eating. Lots of poor acting by people talking while chewing. Lots of pointless filler scenes. Instead of witty dialog we have aimless conversations that drag on forever. It was just plain boring and really tiresome. For example they're at a banquet and the Italian waiter who doesn't speak English gets up to talk and everyone laughs because he's speaking Italian. Then Colombo gives a speech about catching the killer that sounds like he's running for political office and everyone claps for 20 minutes. Most of what they did throughout the show was just pointless and contributed nothing to the solution of the murder.
