Bones: The Carrot in the Kudzu (2014)

Warning: Spoilers
This episode of Bones had some potential to be interesting but it just fell flat.

The body was encased in Kudzu making it difficult to access the remains. However that was only a minor road block for the team. The skull was even broken into a million pieces but that really didn't delay the case at all.

Another aspect of the case that could have been interesting but really wasn't was the obsessive mother. This mom sent hundreds of graphic DMs to the victim but her character was pushed aside until the last ten minutes of the show when we find out she's the killer.

The B plot about Christine's party was sweet. It's super cute to see Bones and Booth trying to create special moments for their daughter when they both had a tough childhood.

The C plot about Clark's book was kind of random. I'm all for adding more depth and details to the character of Clark but I found it really random for Angela, Hodgins and Cam to hate the book but for the book to be picked up by a publisher.

Overall this story had a lot of potential but it was nothing special.

Best part: Booth Bones and Christine playing tag - it is always nice when we get to see them acting as a family who are just having fun

Worst part: the red herring of it being the brother or the brothers wife, at this point I think it is boring to try and fake out the audience by trying to say someone was killed because they were having and affair with their siblings spouse. Also, for the brother to be like "we are both artists and we have an open relationship" just seemed blah and tossed in there randomly to no longer make him a suspect.
