A sweet enough love story
12 September 2022
This is a typical young love outing with all the usual highs and lows that new couples experience.

Momo is a happy young woman with a crush on the college jock Fu-pei. He takes her for granted and lets her down most of the time - sending his friend Gu Wei-yi to stand in for him.

The dialogue for the actor playing Gu Wei-yi must have been very hard to memorise - so kudos to him for that.

The acting is not bad - but Lin Yi shows his inexperience (I think this was his first foray into acting)- particularly in love scenes. His kisses are merely a pressing of lip on lip, and one gets tired of the wide-eyed surprise from. Xing Fei every time he does it.

I find the feminist writing putting cosy chats between males about female functions irritating - especially as they react with such horror at the sight of a brassiere.

It is enjoyable enough - but too long - some episodes nothing happens at all of any note. They could have told the entire story in 12 episodes and not made us fast forward through pointless conversations.

It's an undemanding love story without much conflict.
