Review of The Silent Twins

Honestly, the journalist who appears late in the film for about ten minutes is the only person who grounds the film. I feel like I know less about these two sisters after having seen the film than I did after reading the article that made me want to see the film. A real snoozer -- literally! Acting, cinematography, all fine. Don't know what animation was doing in the middle of this film -- to which the film returned periodically -- but I thought the animated dog was frightening to begin with, but after watching the rest of the movie, he turned out to be my favorite part. My friend -- who insists she stayed awake during the entire film -- told me it included killing an animated parrot. As well as the dog, as they switched out the heart of the dog to save a dying (human -- we're still talking animation here) baby. As John McEnroe would say, "You can't be serious!"
