Kind of strange that this is evidently Part One of (I'm guessing) the backstory with Peter. I don't mind flashbacks and time jumps, but I've never seen a show so half a backstory in an episode and save the rest of later? As opposed to just doing a consistent backstory for a whole show? Maybe I'm overthinking this.
It was still a solid episode all around. Very few scares, but the storytelling is interesting and I like some of the main characters. OJC was diabolically good as a characters that's very different from Luke in Haunting of Hill House.
This is a pretty solid show all around. I've not finished it yet, but I don't see why it's got so much average reviewing even in just these first few episodes.
