A good British thriller
26 September 2022
This was the perfect film for an autumnal night in. It has mystery, intrigue, threat and some neat visuals. I particularly liked the climax where the lighting switches in the dark room as the mystery unfolds (without giving too much away).

It was intriguing to see the machinations of the wealthy play out on screen as a force for evil, using their wealth and privilege to toy with Charlotte, her lover's family and their staff. Each plot turn made you dislike them more, building up the suspense and the inevitable joy of seeing them get their comeuppance.

Ben Lloyd-Hughes plays well-to-do creep very well, portraying the abusive husband's switch between threatening and placation/bargaining excellently.

Great for a night in front of the fire and a bottle of wine.
