Although it does have over the top elements, I didn't really see the comedy side. It's a pretty great horror, with a good social commentary though. Overall I really enjoyed the film, and it's not super serious at the same time with the way it portrayed social media culture.
Like personally I really felt for Sissy, and the actor did a great job with her. Even though she was the killer, I did actually really feel for her, and I think in part that's down to the great acting. You really buy into her character and the struggles she has been through, and her old bully is hostile from the start.
It's certainly a different approach to other horrors I have seen, and I think that added to my enjoyment.
