A must watch indeed! Huge potential to be a series!

Warning: Spoilers
When this movie came across my recommendations on Netflix, I didn't think much of it until I saw that Regina Cassandra had a titular role. Considering she is one of my favourite actresses in recent times, I decided to give it a go and boy it did not disappoint.

I will start by talking about the negatives first and get that out of the way before moving on to the positives. Firstly, whoever dubbed for Nivetha Thomas, I hope you never dub for her again. There is no sync between her wonderful expressions and the tone of her voice. It's such a wasted opportunity. Secondly, there should be some research done to sell a realistic plot line. The character Damini apparently gets an internship as a Business Analyst that pays $120/hr. What dream realm is this and where can I find it? Even those with more than 5 years of experience don't get paid that much in the US and interns rarely get paid at all. There were discrepancies like this that remind you that this is fiction indeed. Thirdly and lastly for the negatives, there should be a good balance between strength and brains with the two characters. While it was clear that Shalini brings in the brawn with her kabbadi background, Damini shouldn't have been expected to be the exact same. She should have been the brains instead and fought the antagonists using her wits to complement Shalini's strength to make them a powerful duo.

However considering all this, it was still a treat to watch. The comedy was not too cringe such as those in recent times and the chemistry between the two leads were great. And the mainstream plot still kept me at the edge of my seat rooting for the leads. You know why? Because for once there was a good women centric film that actually met expectations. It wasn't overly unrealistic where one woman beat 100s of rowdies in one puch but just enough to show you that it's an action packed film.

Also what's funny is that if you look at the negative reviews right here on imbd, it's mainly from men who can't take it that women can have an action pack sequence too. Their fragile masculinity is showing and its honestly hilarious.

Anyways, this movie definitely has the potential to become a series where we can see the Sakini Dakini duo go on to solve cases as policewomen and potentially bring in a variety of interesting cases to the limelight. Hoping for this to happen!

Give it a watch, you won't regret it!
