Older Barbara was totally boring, which doesn't surprise. Never read one of her bodice rippers and apparently she admitted she avoided reality in her books. Didn't know she was into herbal medicine.
I thought all the stuff about her early life was fascinating and well acted. She had a terrible domestic life and I found what she was put through infuriating. But it was what happened at that time. Interesting movie. But when I watch it again I'll be fast forwarding through anything with modern Barbara. The relationship with her brother was obviously important to her. I hope they portrayed it accurately.
