North of Normal is the amazing story of Cea Sunrise Person's formative years. Starting out with her playing in the wild woods as a young child and watching her growing pains into a mid-teenager emotional break-free moment. Rarely do movies do justice to the book but this movie captures this intimate story well. I believe Cea was personally involved in much of the making. I like it when original authors are involved as it feels like the true elements must be getting captured. There are moments from tear-jerking to burst-out laughing. This story can inspire young women to stay strong in the worst of situations and follow their dreams. The soundtrack was brilliant and helped draw the viewer closer to the characters and plot. The cinematography was beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and highly recommend it.
