I was attracted by the movie's description, which included the words bold, dark and suspense. The reality is the film has some decent ideas and imagery but is a complete fail with the delivery. Ricci is ok and certainly looks the part and seems to give it her all, but the writing is so bad it's impossible to judge any of the acting.
Disclaimer: I stopped watching after 45 minutes...It just reached a point where it felt like a complete waste of time. The direction and editing actually seemed confused and scattered. For example, during the build up of Ricci's character being spooked some of the images and sound effects were disassociated from the character's experience. I'm not sure how this movie ended up like it did, but it almost feels like the filmmaker put it together in isolation and lost all perspective. There were a few points where I just started wondering what the intent was.
I'd definitely skip this one.
